Hope is a potential feeling when things are not obvious or near. Sometimes, hope is looking forward to the realization of something abstract. Hope seeks the possibility of continuity in the midst of an uncertain situation, on the road to being, becoming, and moving on.
“Expedition” is the title of a series of works, representing humans, the city, and nature. The works are based on snapshots taken during my wanderings in these passages, i.e., urban areas and natural environments. In order to achieve a simpler expression of that moment and closing the gap between the form and content, the element of color is removed and much of the information is eliminated. That is why everything seems significant and paltry at the same time. Throughout this process, from exploring nature and the city to capturing, deleting, and eliminating the elements in the images, man is seeking to achieve the highest level of “hope.”
